Give Yourself the Gift of Restorative Yoga
A Restorative Yoga session is truly a gift you give yourself. It provides a needed “time-out” from the everyday stresses of life. At the studio, you will enter a clean and comforting environment, with dim lights, relaxing music, and an array of props and blankets. With the use of props, you will be guided into various postures that create gentle stretching of the hips, back, chest, torso, and legs. While in the posture you’ll be guided to mindfully breathe, quiet your mind, and systematically relax your body. Optional heating pads can be added to help release tension in the muscles and joints.
The end result is a healthier and happier you, feeling refreshed and renewed! Reported benefits include:
• Lower stress and reduced cortisol levels.
• Increased breathing capacity.
• Improved circulation.
• Better posture.
• Relief from aches and pains.
• Increased mental clarity.
• Lower blood pressure.
• Improved mood and feeling of well-being.
Why should you attend a Restorative Yoga session? Not only is Restorative Yoga an act of lovingkindness to yourself, but it can change the way you handle life’s pressures and how you react to and treat others.
What do I need to bring? Besides wearing loose, comfortable clothing, and bringing a couple of bed pillows, I ask that you are open to slowing down, being present in the “now” moment and be open to changing your awareness of your body, mind and breath. For some, this is a difficult task in our world of constant stimulus and stress.
Enrolling in a Restorative Yoga session extends the opportunity for a vital pause, an investment in yourself that pays dividends in overall well-being.
