Teaching the art of balance and mindful movement through the flowing forms of Tai Chi to cultivate awareness, relaxation, and inner stability.
Andy McCarl’s journey in Tai Chi began in 1983 under Kim Kanzelberger at Center States Tai Chi Chuan in Kansas City, initially adopted as a performance warm-up during his theater studies at UMKC. But even in those early classes, he discovered that Tai Chi is more than movement — it’s an art of presence, balance, and self-discovery.
For decades, Andy stayed committed to his practice, returning to study when time allowed. In 2013, with his children grown, he deepened his training full-time: teaching beginner classes, exploring Push Hands and Sword Form, and participating in retreats with teachers such as Lenzie Williams, Wei-Ming Yuan, and Mr. Ben Lo (a personal mentor).
In 2020, with full endorsement from his lineage, Andy embraced his path as an independent instructor. Today, he teaches Tai Chi as a living meditation — a means to cultivate stability, clarity, and resilience in daily life.
